We can discover and transform wounds and blind spots into vitality, wealth, meaning and joy. Through listening to the language of the body we create an understanding of your wounds and an increased capacity to sit with and move through those wounds.
Most of us spend a large part of our lives hiding, trying to protect, deny and shove down our wounds in various ways. This method just adds to our suffering. When you work with me, we shine a compassionate light into the dark corners of physical pain, health issues, emotional patterns/trauma, spiritual questions and interpersonal difficulties with the body as our guide.
When we learn that offering presence to these places isn't so bad and that this presence can result in relief and true long-lasting unburdening, we begin to lighten our load, to integrate our pain and to transform it. The eventual result is that we find a more authentic, embodied sense of self. This can profoundly improve our sense of wellbeing, belonging, joy and aliveness. To me, nothing is more important.
Each session we enter into a contemplative embodied state in order to excavate and integrate unconscious material that is the root cause of the problem/s. We will combine talk therapy, meditation, mindfulness, Parts Work (Internal Family Systems), Nervous System regulation, and dialoguing with the body.
The next steps are up to you. This type of work does require integration. Its important that you find ways to re-create the healing states that we discover in our sessions. If you want the work to stick, you must practice. Activities that support Nervous System regulation and mindfulness are generally the best ways to integrate. Some examples of such activities are yoga, walking, journaling, grounding, meditation, swimming, dancing, drawing and Tai Chi. As we find more space for these new nervous system states to exist in our lives, it becomes easier to find them while doing less mindful activities such as household chores or errands. If we want our bodies, our hearts and our minds to experience true healing and transformation, the re-patterning practices must run throughout our day. Otherwise, the old patterns, the old neural pathways remain intact and hardwired.
